After the fantastic Fall 2011 collection and gossip about Haider replacing Galliano at Dior there was a lot of pressure on the designer to deliver something fresh and as good as the previous collection. And he did!
The collection is a visual masterpiece, although it's not my style it was a pleasure to look at Haider's play with colours, shapes and fabrics. What surprised me about this collection was Haider's choice of colours as the dark jewel tones of burgundy red, emerald green and sapphire are the hottest trend of this season. I guess no other colours would reflect the mysterious and unique atmosphere of the show.
The collection is quite masculine but in a slightly futuristic way. I like those oversized heavy silk suits, chiffon hooded tops and leather jackets - it was all tailored to perfection! But most of all I love those backless, slip-on oxfords - I think they will be a huge hit in the next season!
Maybe it's not the most wearable collection but certainly it's the most pleasant for the eye!
