Les Chiffoniers Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the edgy A/W 2013 collection by the cult London label, Les Chiffoniers.

The brand was founded by Leena Similu who has worked at Stella McCartney and Jill Sander. Leena took the fashion world by storm by re-inventing and revamping leggings, designing pieces in PVC and sequins.

The brand is adored by some of the world's most famous super models like Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Anja Rubik who wore Les Chiffoniers' trousers in one of the episodes of the Polish edition of Project Runway.

The new collection is innovative, raw and full of unexpected details. I love the combination of different textures and fabrics. Leena is using difficult fabrics like leather, heavy silk and organza. It's quite hard to make them look flattering and feminine but Leena cleverly managed to do so by folding the leather into pleats to make it look feminine or by adding the texture of a knitted jumper to a leather sweatshirt.

What do you think?

Heimstone Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

After being asleep for a long time ;) today I dream about the wonderful Spring/Summer 2014 collection by Heimstone.

This lovely French label was founded by Alix Petit in 2007. Originally it was an accessories brand, then swimwear was added and finally Alix decided to design a whole collection.

The newest collection, titled "Iceberg", was inspired by Alix's trip to Australia and its name refers to the natural pools of water formed in the white stone overlooking Bondi Beach in Sydney. The collection is also influenced by the Alice Springs desert park and Bondi Beach surf culture.

In the collection we can see many references to Australian culture like the polka dot print which is a reinterpretation of Aboriginal paintings, prints of surfers which were photographed by the designer on a beach in Sydney and the beer print drawn in watercolour which is taken from the design of an Australian beer.

I love the eclectic mix of prints and patterns - it reminds me a bit of the style of Julie Sarinara from Sincerely Jules who in my eyes is the master of mixing and matching different prints. The collection is very feminine with all the flowy dresses and silk shorts but also urban and definitely comfortable.

In my opinion it has a slight Isabel Marant feel to it as it combines loose dresses with suede boots and brave combinations of prints.

Below are my favourite looks from the collection, how do you like it?
