Filippa K Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the beautiful Spring/Summer 2013 campaign by Filippa K.

The campaign was shot by one of my favourite photographers, Lachlan Bailey and it features the lovely Julia Stegner and my favourite male model, Clement Chabernaud.

Filippa K is a Scandinavian brand founded by Filippa Knutsson and Patrik Kihlborg in 1993. The label quickly gained a lot of loyal fans thanks to the wearability and versality of the pieces they create. The brand philosophy is all about style, simplicity and quality, they create uncomplicated yet modern clothes to suit every occasion.

That is reflected in the new campaign, sleek and simple pieces, totally effortless and super stylish at the same time!

COS Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the new Spring/Summer 2013 by COS.

As COS is one of my favourite high-street shops I was really excited to finally see the lookbook for the new collection. I have to be honest, at first I wasn't that keen on it but after a closer look I started to love it!

The bleached out colour palette is like a breath of fresh air from the overtaking wintery blacks and greys seen everywhere on the streets at this time of the year. The washed out whites, pinks, greens and nudes are just perfect for the hot summer as well as the fabrics used in the collection. Everything is light, airy and breathable.

The thing I like the most here is the colour combinations - I would never say that candy cotton pink could look so good when combined with rich green or mustard yellow. As a big fan of the pastel colours I'm very pleased with the colour choices here and to keep the collection from being too sweet all the pieces look very structured.

Clean lines, simple shapes, the lack of prints and the characteristic COS collars made a pretty good combination and I can't wait to see the collection in street-style looks!

I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately, I'm relocating and starting from fresh so I'm really busy but soon it will be all back to normal!

Apiece Apart Spring/Summer 2013 Lookbook

Today I dream about the beautiful Spring/Summer 2013 collection by Apiece Apart.

The brand founded and designed by Laura Cramer and Starr Hout creates simple, adaptable and versatile pieces.

Clean lines, simple shapes, great quality fabrics and spotless tailoring are the brand's hallmarks. It's the kind of label that creates a complete wardrobe, pieces that you can pack in one suitcase and will never run out of combinations. It's all about mix and match!

The new collection represents a space where Scandinavia meets Japan. As the designers describe, "The collection mixes Danish modernism with the imperfect, raw edges of Wabi Sabi". The cool and modern combined with the warm and natural. I love the simple colour palette of whites, sand tones, tan, pinks, yellow and indigo blue. Also, it features my beloved vertical stripes :)

The thing that charmed me the most about this collection is the beautiful layering and how all the pieces are just universal and ageless. What do you think?

Spring 2013 Fashion Week Favourites

Today I dream about the amazing month of high fashion that has unfortunately come to an end :(

That first sentence could be misleading as Fashion Week ended quite a while ago but as usual I lost this post in a sea of drafts so hope you don't mind :)

Sadly, I have to say that this Fashion Week was kind of disappointing. There were a few collections that I was really waiting for to see for months and when I finally did, well they weren't as good as I expected. Maybe my expectations were too high or maybe fewer things can surprise me nowadays.

In general I have to say that I usually prefer the Autumn/Winter Fashion Week as it's much more challenging. Both designers and fashionistas attending the shows must put more effort into their choices as a simple t-shirt and shorts are just not enough. I'm always super excited to see the coats and boots for the upcoming season and that's always my favourite part of every winter collection.

Anyway, today I'd like to show you my favourite collections for the upcoming spring and I'm very curious about your favourites too!

Topshop Unique

For me, this Fashion Week was all about simplicity and minimalism and this is a perfect example. Simple cuts and basic colours combined with metallics, light layering and sheer fabrics make a pretty good combination. Not something I expected to see from Topshop Unique, but it was a really great surprise.

The collection is really chic and sophisticated but still has that great urban feel to it. I love the first two boxy shaped sweats in grey and white - I hope that the price will allow me to get my hands on that beauty :)

Maison Martin Margiela

Minimalism and oversize at its finest! The collection is MMM's view on evening wear and that view is truly unique. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me this collection has something Japanese about it. Perhaps the shapes remind me a bit of the traditional kimonos. I watched the whole show with my mouth wide open and I'm sure that this is one of the special collections that I will still remember in 10 years time. See the whole collection here!

By the way, how to you like MMM's collaboration with H&M, do you have any favourites yet?

I really love it, although I have to say that sadly, I don't think it will sell that well. You really have to be tall and skinny to look good in those clothes apart from some of the draped dresses which I love, but the accessories stole my heart!

Lanvin

To me, Alber Elbaz's new collection is sexy above all. He describes it as "deconstructed classicism" which totally reflects the character of the collection. It's like taking classic office work-wear to a whole new level and transforming it into a sexy, modern party girl look.

There was some bright colours in the collection but my favourite looks are those chic monochrome ones, no surprise there :) Check out the whole collection here!

Alexander Wang

It was the show of the season! It caught my eye instantly and not for silly details like furry heels or the hula-hoop bag but for the amazing technique and a consistent and well thought out collection. Really futuristic and graphic, plenty of leather and skin - totally not my style but how amazing is that!?

I'm a bit crazy and I love it when things are in perfect order. I don't like any asymmetry so maybe that's the reason why I liked it so much. Every cut, every stitch was perfectly reflected on the other side of the piece - pure perfection!

Gabriele Colangelo Resort 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the beautiful Resort 2013 collection by Gabriele Colangelo.

Milan-born Gabriele who previously designed for Versace and Cavalli, launched his own label in 2008. He's known for his attention to detail, innovative techniques and his own vision of luxury and grace.

While creating this collection Gabriele was inspired by light, more specifically, the long-exposure photo of the urban landscape and its lights glowing in the blur. Those prints are the main motif of the collection but there's so much to it! I love the sharp and graphic modish silhouettes, they look as good on their own as they do combined with those eye-catching prints.

The vibrant tones of orange and blue add character and make the collection just perfect for spring! Behind this amazing lookbook apart, of course, from Gabriele, is Oskar Cecere the photographer and the lovely model, Edvig Palm.

Ellery Resort 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the amazing Resort 2012 collection by Ellery.

As you may know I'm a big fan of Kym Ellery and I previously mentioned her collections here and here. This time this talented Australian fashion designer presents her sleek and sparkly Resort 2012 collection.

I instantly loved the metallic fabrics and architectural silhouettes which are also slightly sporty and a bit Balenciaga-like.

I also love the colours, from basic, clean white to rich jewel tones of emerald, deep aubergine and of course silver, lots of silver! As for the fabrics, Kym went for a really wide range, from lightweight linens and chiffon to heavier organza and silk.

It's a modern and futuristic combination of peplums, puffed shoulders, sleek waistcoats, drapes, prints and many others... It seems like a lot but Kym really made it work, have a look!
