Vintage Inspired Watches by Olivia Burton

Today I dream about these beautiful vintage inspired watches by Olivia Burton.

I don't wear watches and often I regret that because a watch can be a great way to finish off a look - plus, it tells the time too :) These watches may change my mind though!

Olivia Burton is a young brand created by two lovely Brits, Lesa Bennet and Jemma Fennings. Both of them graduated from the London College of Fashion and that's how they met.

What charmed me about their watches is the attention to detail, high quality materials and simple but great design. Also, they are really affordable! Apart from the adorable, delicate Animal Motifs collection which is my favourite, I also love the classic, big dial ones - very chic!

At a reasonable £65, I'm seriously considering getting one, but how do I decide which one!? :)

Lux Singer's Fashion Illustration

Today I dream about the beautiful fashion illustrations by Lux Singer.

Behind that mysterious pseudonym lies a very talented designer and illustrator, Zuza. If you've ever wondered about my adorable portrait which you can see on your left, Zuza made that too!

Based in Warsaw, Zuza worked for one of the major and most renowned designers in the polish fashion industry and now she's decided to focus more on her own work as a freelancer.

I had the pleasure of meeting her many, many years ago as we come from the same town and she was always very interested in fashion, hence her choice of career. Just like me, Zuza is more of an observer than a participant, but unlike me, she can express herself through drawing as a form of communication.

Since a love for fashion and design has always accompanied her, it seems like moving into fashion illustration was a natural progression. Zuza only started her adventure with fashion illustration recently and her style is still developing. She chooses her subjects based on what makes her happy or inspired, like editorials, fashion shows, certain models or favoured garments.

As you see below, she loves to work with pencil in monochrome and then add a rich pop of colour which has become a defining characteristic of her art. What I love about her work the most is her amazing attention to detail, her vivid imagination and how she always adds something personal to the illustration - such as the cats on my portrait :)

I also like the ways she portrays women, they can be either feminine and subtle or strong and fierce. Check out Lux's blog and Tumblr and if you like her artwork you can like her Facebook page too!

Fall 2013 Fashion Week - My Favourite Backstage Shots

Today I dream about all these beautiful new collections as seen during the latest Fashion Week.

Another Fashion Week is over and although winter isn't quite finished yet, we already know what we'll be wearing next autumn. I'm sure that we all have some favourites and of course some trends that we won't be welcoming in our wardrobes!

I'm not going to write separate posts about every collection because there would be so many :) Instead, I'll show you some of my favourite backstage shots which also represent my favourite collections. Here we go!

Tommy Hilfiger - Adorable! As a huge fan of the houndstooth print, I'm really charmed, not only by the total looks but also by the beautiful styling, hair and make-up.

Carolina Herrera - This reminded me of the 40s in America, especially Kate Beckinsale's character in Pearl Harbor - glamorous and so feminine!

Blumarine - Pastels and a cool mixture of different textures, I love it!

Prabal Gurung - Military style is perfect for autumn but it still looks feminine thanks to the accentuated waists.

Derek Lam - Minimalist and so chic!

Diane von Furstenberg - Very feminine and sexy!

JW Anderson - Simple, graphic forms and origami shapes, a really interesting combination!

Alexander Wang - As always, Alexander took it to the next level - great clothes, styling and models!

Vera Wang

Proenza Shouler

Dries van Noten  - Another wonderful collection, I want everything! ;)

Philip Lim

Rochas - Amazing coats and colour combinations!

Dolce & Gabanna

Marni

Simone Rocha

Acne

Celine - One of my favourites, it looks like pigeon blue is one of the colours for next season!

Chloe

Balmain - Baroque, leather and back to the 80's, very eye-catching!

Rick Owens - As usual, lots of leather and lots of attitude!
