Balmain Spring 2012 Collection

Today I dream about the new Spring 2012 collection from Balmain.

It was the show that everyone has been waiting for and I think it didn't disappoint anyone. It was, well, very Balmain - rich, short and super sexy.

The collection is very edgy and despite the departure of Christophe Decarnin who was replaced by Olivier Rousteing, Balmain kept the typical silhouette and style. You can see the western influence in the collection - all the chunky buckles, fringes and cut leathers. There is a lot of gold, heavy embellishments and metallics - everything looked almost gold-encrusted.

On the catwalk we saw the best and most wanted models - Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Anja Rubik. Bling bling!

Tattly Temporary Tattoos

Today I dream about these super cool temporary tattoos from Tattly.

I love tattoos, so far I only got one and although I love it, I think I'll stop there and just admire other people's from now on :) Not that I'm scared, I'm just worried that once I start I won't be able to stop!

'Tattly is a temporary tattoo store for design-minded kids and kids-at-heart' - as the founder Tina Roth Eisenberg, a Swiss designer living in New York says. All the tattoos are created by individual designers and at a great price of $5 I just have to decide which one I like the most :)

So cool and fun!

Minimalist Country House in Poland

Today I dream about this beautiful house located in my homeland - Poland!

The house belongs to Joanna and Sebastian who moved in three years ago. What brought them to the countryside was their love for their pets who weren't comfortable in the busy environment of Warsaw.

During the long time it took to fix up the house and make it more livable, Joanna found out that less is more - the house is not cluttered but also it's not coldly minimal, there's a lot of personality in it. I love the colors in the house, the white floors and furniture look great with the wooden beams and bricks in the kitchen. To camouflage the TV they painted the wall behind it in black - how clever! Just like Joanna I hate it when the TV becomes the dominant feature of a room.

Joanna's philosophy is all about minimalism and keeping only the essentials. You won't find curtains in the house as she says they block the view and that the less things you own the better it is which also allows you to think much more clearly.

Although I love all of my treasures as they bring back so many beautiful memories, I agree with Joanna and currently I'm trying to introduce this philosophy to my wardrobe :)

Style Muse - Ulyana Sergeenko

Today I dream about borrowing Ulyana Sergeenko's amazing sense of style :)

I first found out about Ulyana from Aga's post and I fell in love with her designs straight away! All the clothes looked like they were from a fairytale, they were not at all modern and utterly beautiful - it was like travelling back through time to when women looked like real princesses :)

I was intrigued with who was behind these amazing designs and when I first saw a picture of Ulyana it took my breath away - it was obvious that only she could create them. Ulyana has an amazing personal style and her collection truly reflects her fashion choices.

This talented Russian photographer and designer combines vintage and haute couture pieces in a perfect way. I love the 40's and 50's shapes she creates in her looks, she always looks so lady-like, like a mysterious goddess from the last century! Have a look!

Saturday Recipes - Squashes and Pumpkins!

Today I dream about trying all these recipes involving squashes and pumpkins - the hit of every autumn and winter :)

The season for squashes is coming and it always brings autumn to my mind. I love the sweet, rich flesh inside protected by the beautiful thick skins that you can use for decoration in so many ways. Today I would like to show my favourite ways of preparing squashes and pumpkins - some are sweet, the others savoury. Now choose your favourite! :)

Roasted Pumpkin Wedges

This is the easiest way to serve pumpkin and also my favourite one. You simply drizzle the pumpkin with olive oil, add garlic cloves and fresh sage leaves, then roast until soft. Simple and delicious! Get the recipe here!
