Saturday Recipes - Tomatoes!

Today I dream about trying these fantastic tomato dishes!

For me, tomato is the most underrated vegetable. It's the kind of vegetable that you eat without even knowing that you just ate it, like in a sandwich :) But there's so many things you can make with tomatoes and they can be delicious even on their own.

I try to avoid buying tomatoes in the supermarkets as they don't have so much flavour, it's much better to get them from the market and basically the rule is - the uglier and crazier shaped the tomato is, the better it will taste!

Panzanella

It's the best way of getting rid of stale bread that I know! It's not the real panzanella that you'll eat in Tuscany but I think this recipe is even better! It takes minutes to prepare and is really delicious - trust me! You'll find the recipe here!

Caramelized Tomato Tarte Tatin

What a great idea - savoury tarte tatin! The recipe also involves Kalamata olives which I love, plus if you use ready pastry, you'll make it in 20 minutes! Get the recipe here!

Slow-Roasted Tomato Caprese Salad with Balsamic Glaze

I have a crush on slow-roasted cherry tomatoes so there's more coming! After roasting they get that deep and sweet flavour that I love. I'd say that this recipe is a fresh take on caprese salad and I think it looks amazing. Click for the recipe!

Tomato Jam

Why not?! I think it's a great and healthy alternative to ketchup and I can almost feel the taste of it on a fresh, crispy baguette :) Find the recipe here!

Tomato and Goat Cheese Tart

It looks and sounds like a perfect summery dish! Tomatoes and goat cheese make a pretty great combination and with my favourite rosemary this recipe is a must-try! Click for the recipe!

Slow-Roasted Tomatoes

I did warn you that there will be more slow-roasted tomatoes, so there we go :) What can be better than these slow roasted tomatoes with herbs, garlic and olive oil? They're delicious on their own but also can be a base to so many dishes. You can freeze them too! Click for the recipe!

Fried Green Tomatoes

Great book, great movie and a great recipe - an instant classic! This fried green tomatoes recipe is the best one that I found because it's truly traditional and an authentic southern dish. The batter looks so crispy and they are served with an onion relish - yum! Get the recipe here!

Animale Fall/Winter 2011 Campaign

Today I dream about this new amazing campaign from Animale.

Animale is a Brazilian brand founded in 1991. Their clothes always create a very clean, classy silhouette. The Fall/Winter 2011 campaign featuring the gorgeous Raquel Zimmermann is all white. I like the whole look of the campaign - a strong, confident woman who knows what she wants.

Lately I have a crush on the combination of white and silver so I like this collection even more! Before winter comes though, check out the Spring/Summer 2011 campaign. The collection as well as the campaign is much more feminine and romantic.

Still very smart but I see a little nod to 70s with the flares and the big comeback of sequins (this trend will be massive soon!). Which Animale's campaign do you like more?

Christopher Kane Resort 2012

Today I dream about the new Resort 2012 collection by Christopher Kane.

The first thing that comes to your mind when you hear Christopher Kane is for sure the famous galaxy print. It was everywhere, all high street stores sell galaxy printed clothes but Christopher was actually the first one to make it so popular.

With this collection it looks like the next big thing will be rainbows and metallics. I'm not sure about rainbows but metallics I adore, especially the silver and copper shades! I guess I'm a typical woman who likes everything that's shiny :)

What I like about this collection is that all the shapes are simple, so despite all the neon prints the clothes are not too overpowering.

Although this collection will not be my favourite Resort 2012 collection - it's just that there's too much happening in it: neons, rainbows, metallics and lace all mixed together - I thought it's worth mentioning.

Do you think any of the trends shown in this collection will become as popular as the galaxy print? See the whole collection here!

Joanna Klimas Autumn/Winter 2011/2012

Today I dream about the new Autumn/Winter 2011/12 collection by Joanna Klimas.

Joanna is a very successful Polish designer who's been in the business since 1994. Her designs, adored by celebrities, are always classy and stylish.

Joanna's new collection is so simple, so classic but at the same time so not boring! I love the neutral colours - black, nude, gray with a splash of blue and brick red socks. The fabrics are perfect for the cold, long Polish winters - wool, tweed and leather. What's quite unusual for Polish designers is that the campaign is actually really good: the model, the styling, the posing - it all goes great together!

Feminine dresses combined with a bit of tomboy chic mixed with my beloved oversized and minimalistic style - for the first time I'm really looking forward to winter :)

Balenciaga Resort 2012

Today I dream about Balenciaga's new Resort 2012 collection.

I swear I have a Balenciaga radar built in - I can recognise Balenciaga from miles away, it's just so different :)

I've always loved Balenciaga and I think that Nicolas Ghesquière is one of the most talented designers of all time. There's so many things that I love about this collection but I think that the main one is the A-line skirts with soft folds - they are just wonderful, don't you think?

The first outfit is my favourite and it's absolutely perfect to me. The fabrics are amazing- so rich and heavy, the shapes are very Balenciaga, I like the earthy colours with a touch of purple and red. Oh... the shoes and bags - I want them all!

I admire Balenciaga for combining things that you would never normally imagine could go together so perfectly and making it work. I'm not sure about the big comeback of the sun visor but I know this trend will find its followers. Fee the full collection here!

Natalia Siebula Fashion

Today I dream about Natalia Siebula's beautiful pieces.

Natalia is a young Polish designer who creates classic, mostly oversized clothes for people like me, who appreciate simplicity and aren't so keen on bold colours, prints and crazy shapes.

So far, Natalia has created four wonderful collections and it's hard to decide which one is my favourite. For my Polish readers, you can find out more about Natalia from the lovely Milena who runs one of my favourite blogs - Milles of Fashion.

When I first saw Natalia's work the first thought that came to mind was Gillian Tennant, a designer who I wrote about here, who created a collection that I totally fell in love with and could wear all the time. Just like Gillian's, Natalia's clothes are very feminine, flowing and not overpowering - they would make a great base for every wardrobe.

She uses quite a narrow range of colours which for me is a good thing because you can easily combine clothes from all her collections together. The other great thing about Natalia's designs is that the pieces come with very reasonable prices which is great when you're looking for unique designs made of good quality fabrics.

Here are some pictures from all of Natalia's collections, I hope you will like them as much as I do!

If you wish, you can buy Natalia's designs here!

Saturday Recipes - Snacks!

Today I dream of summer :)

I'm slowly starting to accept the fact that the summer is not coming to UK this year or to Poland where I'm going on holiday in few weeks. I was going to write about sorbets today because I still had hope for tropical heat in my town but it's gray and rainy outside so I thought that a sorbet post would be inappropriate :)

Instead, check out this weeks recipes for healthy (and not so healthy) snacks that you could try while watching TV instead of the same old popcorn. It's just a few little things to keep you happier while still waiting for summer to arrive!

Buttered Rosemary Orange Nuts

Everyone knows how healthy the nuts are and that we should snack on them instead of crisps and sweets but the truth is that they're a bit boring. I think this recipe is great - healthy and full of flavour. I love the flavour and smell of roasted rosemary so this is perfect for me! Click for the recipe!

Spiced Peaches with Ham and Basil

I just realised that I've already got all the ingredients for trying this recipe, yay! I've never tried peaches with meat - melon, sure but peach? Well, it's about time to find out how they taste! The recipe here!

Fig Jam and Cheese Bites

Figs are one of my favourite fruits so I'm sure that I would love these tiny gooey and delicious looking little nibbles! I think I would use fresh figs here that I would roast but I'm sure it's equally good with fig jam. Yummy, simple and ready to eat in few minutes? You got it here!

Banana Bites

Just look at that picture - banana pieces covered in chocolate and sprinkled with nuts and shredded coconut... no further description needed! :) Get the recipe here!

All the pictures and recipes above come from my favourite Framed Cooks blog which I recommend to all food lovers!

Apple Rings

Apples are healthy, right? So what they're deep fried and smothered with icing it still counts, non? :) They look incredible! For the recipe click here!

Brown Butter and Rosemary Popcorn

A great alternative to the usual salty or sweet popcorn. I mentioned before that I love rosemary, everyone loves butter so why not try this? Recipe here!

Chili-Lime Roasted Chickpeas

Another thing I've never tried before - roasted chickpeas! I heard that it's really nice but the only way I eat chickpeas is hummus. Crunchy, salty and tangy - sounds great to me! Click for the recipe!

Rolo Pretzel Bites

For the end, something sweet! It's so easy to make, they look wonderful and I'm sure they taste great! I like the combination of sweet and salty plus my favourite pecan nuts I think that this recipe could be one of my favourite snacks! Find the recipe here!
