With temperatures like we've experienced here lately there's nothing better than ice cream. Why not try to make your own then?
You know exactly what's inside, there are no artificial ingredients and there's so many possibilities. I'll start with a different look at ice cream. I always like to try something new, discover unusual flavours and be more adventurous. Have a look at these recipes and feel inspired! :)
Lavender Ricotta Ice Cream
I have never used lavender anywhere but in my closet, so when I saw this recipe on One Ordinary Day's blog I was very intrigued. All it takes is to combine ricotta cheese, honey and salt with lavender syrup. I'm sure I'm gonna give it a try!

Basil Ice Cream
This is another recipe for herb infused ice cream. I just bought a basil plant today, so I think I might try this interesting recipe from The City Sisters very soon :) It looks delicious and very refreshing!

Maple Bacon Bourbon Ice Cream
Three flavours that absolutely go perfectly together - what a great idea to put them all in an ice cream! Thanks Cherry Tea Cakes! Isn't everything better with bacon though? :)

Mango Saffron Ice Cream
Before I saw this recipe from Fork Spoon Knife's blog I would only use saffron in risotto. It gives the ice cream such a beautiful colour and a little subtle flavour. Plus, mango is one of my favourite fruits so I'm sure I'll be making this one in the summer!

Healthy Banana Ice Cream
This recipe really surprised me as it requires only one ingredient: bananas :O How easy is that?! I'm not sure you can call this ice cream because it is dairy and sugar free. This great frozen treat is from Erin Schubert's blog and I think it's perfect for summer.

Ok, and now it's time for my favourite kind of ice cream: sweet, creamy and quite heavy. It's probably not the best choice before summer when you're supposed to be on a bikini body diet but who cares? :P
I found these amazing recipes on Kevin and Amanda's blog and I instantly fell in love with each one of them!
What's best in this recipe is that you don't need an ice cream maker to do it. Then you add your favourite flavours, toppings and mix-ins and you can get this:
Hazelnut Mocha Fudge Swirl Ice Cream
Cinnamon Bun Ice Cream

Coconut Ice Cream with Roasted Cherries
A very quick recipe from The Kitchn. I love cherries and the fact that there's nutmeg in this recipe makes it even more interesting. It looks absolutely delicious and too easy not to try!

Dulche la Leche Ice Cream
Who doesn't like dulche la leche? To me it's the greatest thing ever and my favourite way to eat it is straight from the can :)
This recipe from Ravenous Couple is an ingenious way of capturing the taste of it. It looks like ice cream heaven...

Coffee Ice Cream
This recipe from Indochine Kitchen is perfect for the times when it's too hot to drink coffee. It includes fresh coffee beans, egg yolks, sugar, heavy cream and milk. I can almost smell it already :)

Mint Oreo Ice Cream
Now you can make your version of Ben and Jerry’s Mint Oreo flavour ice cream thanks to this recipe from Heather Christo's blog. You just make a basic ice ream base and add Oreo cookies and a bit of peppermint extract. I would use fresh mint myself but I'm sure it would be delicious either way.

Strawberry Ice Cream
A classic from Delectable Deliciousness's blog. I was never a big fan of strawberry ice cream when I was a child but thankfully things have changed :) Strawberry season is coming soon so it's gonna be a great chance to make your own ice cream using the freshest strawberries.
