Interior Inspiration Ideas - Dusty Hues

Today I dream about these beautiful dusty tones which you can see in the pictures below.

I've always been a fan of clean, all-white interiors but recently I've been obsessed with these muted pastel, powdery hues. They give me the feeling of serenity, tranquillity and real peace of mind which has always been important for me when designing interiors to work and sleep in. Dusty pink combined with powdery baby blue, mint or grey make an amazing combination, subtle and not over-powering without making the interior look too dark.

As you can see, they look great in any style, blended with antiques, modern pieces or with copper elements. What do you think about this decorating idea?

Haider Ackermann Spring 2015 RTW

Today I dream about the stunning Spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection by Haider Ackermann. Just today I was looking at Haider's latest Fall 2016 collection which he showed in Paris. Then I remembered this collection, which I really wanted to share here but unfortunately didn't have enough time :(

Haider first caught my attention with his amazing Spring 2012 collection which was full of heavy silk, ruffling and draping. It made a huge impression on me and it seemed so sexy in a not very obvious way! For me, Haider is the master of mixing prints, patterns and colours and his every show and collection is a visual masterpiece.

This time the colour palette is much softer, from pale pink, through to my beloved mauve to moss green and a super trendy shade this year - marsala. This may be caused by Haider's inspiration for this collection - “I was thinking about broken flowers - I always have to go dark!” he said. “But in the end it's much softer than I could ever have imagined.” Again, there is a lot of layering, draping and ruffling and deconstruction. Haider is fantastic when it comes to using different kinds of fabrics, from lightweight chiffon and silk to heavy suede, cashmere and distressed sweatshirt cotton. Perfection!

The Great Spring 2015 Collection

Today I dream about the Spring 2015 collection by The Great. The Great is a women’s collection by Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, best known for the super-cool denim brand Current/Elliot, launched in 2008. Since then, the creative duo have been dressing celebrities for red carpets, styling editorials and advertising campaigns.

Emily and Meritt who have been best friends since they met as students at UCLA more than 15 years ago left Current/Elliot in late 2012 and now they are getting back into design as they have just launched their new and much anticipated project - The Great.

Their debut collection described by the designers as the Casual Americana Wonderland consists of easy to wear pieces that unite both tomboyish and ultra-feminine influences. This time, Current and Elliott are working with a wide range of fabrics and silhouettes and leaving out denim for now. Fingers crossed that they will enjoy the great success that this collection deserves!

How do you like their first collection?
