DIY Pumpkin Decoration Ideas

Today I dream about the upcoming Hallowe'en, autumn and... pumpkins!!!

I always think of pumpkins as soon as the leaves start to fall from the trees, to me it is the ultimate autumn vegetable and one of my favourites! What could be better on the long and usually rainy autumn evening than a hot bowl of pumpkin soup, followed by pumpkin pie and a pumpkin spiced latte?

For all my favourite recipes using pumpkins and squashes check out my recipe post here!

Apart from eating them, pumpkins are just perfect for decoration. I don't only mean the spooky carved Hallowe'en decorations but instead you can create something beautiful using inexpensive materials and transform you house for autumn! Here are my favourite DIY ideas!

Ellery Resort 2013 Collection

Today I dream about the amazing Resort 2012 collection by Ellery.

As you may know I'm a big fan of Kym Ellery and I previously mentioned her collections here and here. This time this talented Australian fashion designer presents her sleek and sparkly Resort 2012 collection.

I instantly loved the metallic fabrics and architectural silhouettes which are also slightly sporty and a bit Balenciaga-like.

I also love the colours, from basic, clean white to rich jewel tones of emerald, deep aubergine and of course silver, lots of silver! As for the fabrics, Kym went for a really wide range, from lightweight linens and chiffon to heavier organza and silk.

It's a modern and futuristic combination of peplums, puffed shoulders, sleek waistcoats, drapes, prints and many others... It seems like a lot but Kym really made it work, have a look!

Jessica Colaluca's Colour Palettes

Today I dream about these lovely colour palettes made by Jessica Colaluca.

Jessica is the creator of Design Seeds, an infinite source of colour palettes and inspirations. Detroit-born Jessica, a former industrial designer, has always had a passion for colours and her colour palettes are some of the best I've seen.

I find them really useful when creating mood boards or simply if you're unsure whether some of your pieces will go together well. On Design Seeds you can search the palettes by colour or theme and there are so many that it's really difficult to choose your favourite!

Here are some of my favourite palettes for the autumn/winter season. For all the Pinterest maniacs, here's Jessica's profile! Also, you can buy Jessica's beautiful e-books here!

Charming Apartment in Gothenburg

Today I dream about this charming two bedroom apartment located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

This beautiful house was built in the late 1800s and it's really well preserved and has kept its original character.

I love houses with history and although the romance between old and new can be quite risky, this house is a perfect example of how to keep it well balanced. The fireplaces really charmed me, they look amazing, especially when contrasted with modern furniture and accessories.

Although the main colour in the house is white, it's certainly not cold. In both bedrooms the soft shades of pink, lilac and grey and the warm lightning make them really cosy and snug. The spacious kitchen combined with a dining area is equipped with all the modern appliances but the cast iron fireplace adds lovely homey rustic character.

I'm sold, how do you like it?

Boden Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Today I dream about the wonderful Fall/Winter 2012 collection by Boden.

Boden is a UK-based brand founded in 1991 which is all about creating timeless pieces using great quality fabrics for the whole family as they design menswear and children's clothes too.

The F/W 2012 collection is warm, calm and comfortable. You won't really find any of the seasonal trends here but instead you have a great collection of versatile pieces for every occasion. The earthy colours are just perfect for autumn plus burgundy, mustard yellow and bottle green add character.

Because I love autumn and winter (only really in photographs and when I'm home wrapped in a blanket!), I would also like to show you the beautiful Spring/Summer 2012 collection. You have to admit that the classic and timeless pieces, beautiful model and charming background make a pretty great combination!
